Right now I'm actively seeking out new challenges. I'm looking forward to fighting the obstacles that come up in my illustration and photomanipulation, even if it means a duel to the death! I'm not entirely concerned with 'style' right now as much as I am with the impact of the finished piece. Vectors, vexels, lines, strokes, form... these aren't the most important considerations for me. Rather, the question 'Am I going to evoke some sort of feeling here with this work?' has been made the basis for every piece.

I use the mediums of photography, photomanipulation and illustration to try and transcribe feelings, not just of my own but those feelings floating through the ether that visit me from the world. I'm stimulated by thoughts of the macabre, of pain, stimulated by such things as mental illness and sexuality. I'm influenced by horror images and the female form, and even fashion and pornography (two things I see as being the same) to a certain extent.

My own feelings permeate my works to an extent. As a result I find that aesthetic expression is not merely just a distraction, but a cathartic process.

I'm currently working on strengthening my skills in animation, especially flash as a means of creating accessible digital moving art. I'm also interested in strengthening my language skills through art.

セレトレック、ゾフィア：１９８１年生まれ。

オーストラリア出身フリーランスフォトグラファー・イラストレーター。地元クイーンズランドの学校でデザインを学び、現在はイラストの活動をしている。



私は今後もっと挑戦していきたい。というのは、イラストなどに対するこだわりを「面と向かって戦う」のような感じで直面していきたいのです。現在自分のスタイルに強い意識を持たず、つまり、自由にいかに斬新で面白いものができるかをずっと考えているし、ベクター、線、フォームは一番大切にすることではないと思います。
「この作品は誰かに感じさせられるのか」という質問が自分の基礎になったと思います。

作品に影響を与えることは女の形や怪奇映画などのことです。とても刺激を受けるのは苦しみや、精神病や、性欲意識などのものです。ファッションもポルノグラフィー（それら自体は同じものだと私は思う）にまで影響を与えます。

自分の気持ちはある程度作品に浸透しまいます。私の気持ちそのものばかりではなく、世界から伝わった気持ちも描こうとします。その結果「美的表現」というものは気晴らしばかりではなく、カタルシスにまでなると思います。

これからもっとアニメーション、特にネットで動画を拡大可能性を持つフラッシュ、の腕を上げたいと思います。それに、美的表現を中心として、日本語とフラン語の言語機能を拡大したと思います。
